Hi, a log from the last race exhaust temp falls off / not constant rate of temp increase during acceleration @ approx 10000rpm
Is this common or do you see a constant rise in EGT during acceleration?
Iame X30 junior with 24mm restrictor
Peak EGT 645 Deg C min EGT 345 Deg C
I use an open tip EGT Temp sensor so its pretty quick
Tried leaner High speed needle aproximatly -10min. the exhaust them rise rate is more consistant and it effect the max temp on the longest full throttle part ca +25 deg C on the shorter straights it was hardly affected.
I don’t know if this is benificial as the speed curves are quite close and it was on different sessions (similar grip and ambient temp)
Second curve is a little better, but don’t shoot for the highest EGT you can reach. Peak power is a little bit below that. It is difficult to compare the temps from one engine to another since the location of the probe and the probes themselves can give quite a difference.
My Leopard seems to make the most power at 635 degrees C with the probe at 15cm from the cylinder face and installed just above the center of the exhaust pipe.
Be careful going above 650, 670 and above is seizing territory
