My guess is a tool for a 2cycle engine but not sure. Any ideas?
Google reverse image search sometimes will yield results with these things. I tried to look it up there and didn’t have any luck.
On another site I posted it, they believe it’s a Chain stretcher/shrinker. Depends if you need to tighten or loosen the chain. ![]()
Looks like a chain tool of some sort?

Darn it! Same day too!
I have an alternate theory…..clamp used to hold brake pedal to front bumper rail while bleeding brakes…
(It wouldn’t fit the pins or gaps of a #219 chain.)
It is used to hold something at a precise spacing or compress/stretch something…
That’s interesting. Why not use a zip tie or just hold with your hand? I am only familiar with OTK SA2 style brake systems for reference so feel free to school me. A tool like that looks like over kill to me.
Was just a theory….can only stretch a chain, not tighten.
The rounded left slider implies either a sliding motion of the clamped part or an intentional ID of something around it. And the intentional flats tell me that it might hold a tuning-fork shaped object. The two ‘clamp’ bolts on outside can either hold washers (for retaining the part) or the part itselft.
It’s really quite a puzzle.
Very insightful, Ted!
