I know I’ve said it before but I truly miss this track. My friend who’s raced in Italy and all over the US says it was by far his favorite.
I wish I got to drive it later in my “career” when I was more talented. Everything about it was great. The banked turn was pretty wild too, nearly 180° turn at full throttle is sketchy asf.
It was unfortunately another casualty of the pandemic. (Even though it could’ve been saved)
For the people that have been to a lot of tracks, what are your thoughts on X1?
As you can see this is a old pic thay finished the part they where building… Topspeed is 120kmh and is a very cuped track "inclines in turns so you can keep speed almost like a nascar track but incline is alot smaller. Its this one for me or as ypu may know Garda is also a lovely track!
Pitt Race. All day, every day. Locals have no idea what a gift they have here. New people think this is what karting is like everywhere.
South Garda is pretty special too. It’s like karting Mecca - the facility, the racing, the ambiance… You know you are somewhere that you should savor the moment.
Well, you said facility, and asked for some international thoughts, so my pick is The Bend, South Australia. I’ve only driven the International Circuit on the road course (in my Stock Honda), but it also has a west and eastern circuits, plus the full course (like over 7 km/4.3 miles). The International road circuit is a stupendous drive. I don’t think I could ever get bored of the sweeping high speed turns through T9, 10 and 11. And T17 is an absolute prick to get right. You will note the substantial sprint track in the bottom left hand corner (SW). I haven’t driven it yet, but apparently the full circuit is a cracker. It’s been build to FIA-CIK standards and I’m told is good enough to hold a world championship (we’ll see).
This doesn’t count because the track is no longer used a a kart race track, but I loved the track they had at Raleigh NSW Australia.
1km (0.6mi) long and rising and falling through what I’m guessing was 3 or maybe 4m (9 to 12ft) of elevation changes.
It was an awesome track. The Mount Panorama of Karting.
