I’ve been doing track designs for almost two years. At first it was paper, than started doing digital art on Kleki, and now i’m utilizing GIMP.
Below are the latest designs i’ve made using the three.

That’s really cool! Those designs look really good. I really like the double apex bottom design corner.
GIMP has been my go-to for track sketches too…. More like poor finger paintings to be fair but have helped get a sense of what a certain layout might look like accounting for track width etc.
These are for temporary ice tracks. One or two are clearly for humor only
