KA Airbox location

I was attaching the airbox on my KA100 and thought to myself…why do we face the intake holes up, do we have to, is it designed to only be run facing up?

Any rules specific to the KA don’t mention the orientation just that you have to use the OEM airbox.

I don’t think there is any advantage either way, but it fits better with the holes facing the side pod.

Thoughts?

I feel like sideways would create all sorts of problems and also make dirt inhalation much more likely.

Then again rotax has there’s completely backwards and it works great.
