Kart Republic Body Work

Just make 'em in black!!! Really helps my OCD on keep plastics looking nice. Also it looks so odd to me that only the rear bumpers tend to come in black with everything else normally white.

To quote some of my favorite bands:
“Paint it black” - The Rolling Stone
“Back in black” - AC/DC

Homologation for parolin is here, not sure what to say about it.

I await price but this is an overwhelming failure of governance.

Looks like dart Vader mask from the front :woman_shrugging:t3:

The Price is right here

Ok, only confirms my belief this is an unbelievable level of failure from the FIA.

196 euros to… display your number plate. A lot more if you want to test the different models.

How the FIA have allowed a situation whereby Nassau panels, which aren’t safety tested yet get the protection of homologation, to be aero developed is extraordinary.

I could not agree more 250 Euro incl VAT is crazy if you ask me.
But this is whay happens when FIA dont control it, call karting the pathway to F1 and generally doing a really bad job in controlling the cost of being involed in karting.

Shame about the price, but I think it looks cool.

from 69€ to 196€ :firecracker: :firecracker: :firecracker:
I’ll have to adjust our price list

little preview

3-piece panel??? As someone how works in CAD I can appreciate the effort that went into the surface modeling, but come on.

I’m a bit biased as this is when I got back into karting, but IMO the looks peaked right before the OTK hot dog bun kicked off the aero wars.

I’m sure it’s just me missing something, but still haven’t seen anything quantified in terms of what a ‘good’ front panel will give as a time (or maybe it’s handling) advantage vs an average one. Hard to buy into without more to go on than third party anecdotal comments.

Less drag, more downforce, better airflow to key areas like tires to keep them cooler. Or at least that’s what the manufacturers will tell you.

I’ve raced with many bodyworks and they’ve never been the factor that has won a race for me. I beat several hot dog buns with an old M6 fairing on some pretty aero dependent tracks.

Is there a benefit? Maybe the numbers will tell you so. Is it worth 10x the price for that benefit? Up to you.

Right this is what I keep hearing (again, third party anecdotal tales). I just think it’s time for someone (I guess the manufacturers) to put up some numbers or shut it. If people like the way they look great, but until someone wants to put some numbers where their mouth is, it’s just all marketing speak to me.

(not to direct the 'tude at you @tjkoyen - I just get tired of hearing claims made and given about various karting aspects without evidence, and which seem to sort of ‘get a pass’ of acceptance. I guess I’m having a ‘get the kids off my lawn’ moment :slightly_smiling_face:)

The M6 bodywork is still my favourite. At least you can still find them because the OTK 4-stroke version comes with the M6 kit.

I still think Parolin was the original sinner because if I recall correctly they came first with the Dynamica before OTK. OTK just smelled the powder Parolin left.

No worries, yeah I agree.

Obviously anecdotal again, but I did back-to-back the M7 and M6 fairings when they came out at New Castle and found no difference in top speed or RPM.

I don’t think you’ll get solid data because as you said, it’s mostly marketing speak.

My humble opinion:
They had to come out with something new, since all the other manufactures did.
I like the new look and never really was a big fan of the “old” KR Bodywork.
Still kinda like KG 508 best.

It´s really expensive but I think it´ll mainly be a problem for hobby drivers who just buy it because they like how it looks. And even then, 200 bucks won´t hurt too much in our sport.

The professional teams won´t care in times where a season costs 6 digits or more.
And to be honest, in my opinion as someone who cares about optics, I´ll always think you´re the cooler guy if you are faster or win with old or shitty material.
So just buy the stuff you like best.
