Hello I’m 15 from Southern California and a circuit just opened up near my house I have been racing desert cars for 3 years and I’ve rental karted many times. I wanna get into real karting but don’t know much about it. What cc kart shouldI get? I don’t know if weight and height matter but i’m 5,10 140 pounds. I have a budget of around 6 to 8k for a kart should I try to buy new or used and were is a good place to look for karts for sale? Thanks!

Welcome.
Step one is to identify what classes are available at your local track. No use buying something and not having anyone else to race against or not having a class for you locally. Are you talking about the new K1 Circuit? Not sure what they are offering there for a local program other than their electric rentals.
As far as purchasing, always start used (in good condition) when you’re beginning. No need to buy anything new. You won’t be able to feel the tiny differences used to new in terms of the chassis. And you always want to look for a brand of kart that is supported locally so you can get parts and setup advice easily.
Maybe someone can chime in regarding K1’s local program, if there is one.
