Just caught this on my feed. Can’t find anything about it anywhere. But yeah, looks different.
Ribbed… for your pleasure.
Hr Geiger vibe too which is as you previously mentioned fundamentally phallic.
OMG, can we stop?
This can’t be real.
I’m just upset I have to redesign some stickers
If true, I wonder if KR Nassau panels will change too
Licence to print money this game sometime. There’s no safety testing for Nassau Panels, and their main purpose is to display a race number. A literal number plate and a bracket does the same job, yet people are going to be buying various panels and testing them, spending a load of money. I know Conspicuous Consumption is a factor here, but even then… Bonkers.
Seems to be very elephant trunk like. Hard to tell but it looks like the whole front area is an inlet with air exiting those slots.
It won’t be long and we are going to have an era of super ugly fairings like noses era of F1
We’re looking less like karts and more like cars every day.
And we wonder why we can’t stop people from driving wrecklessly with all of this plastic protecting us.
Should have been a rule that the driver’s number is clearly visible at front
This makes the new M11 OTK nassau panel look good.
I wouldn’t go that far, but definitely a step down from the 508. I’m dubbing it the catfish. The M11 is the roast beef taco
Is that for when some clueless driver plows it up your behind?
There’s things I’d change about it but my university cfd is coming flooding back.
I believe the vents/slots are aiming to reenergize the boundary layer over the top of the nassau panel. My guess is the boundary layer is separating there due to the angle of attack and radius as its moves to horizontal. This increases drag.
What I don’t get is why they seem to have just used a big hole on the front. They could have used NACA inlet.
Yeah I think it’s like an “s-duct” like in F1.
If this is the new KG stuff I think it looks way less offensive than the OTK stuff.
NACA ducts are for when you are trying to vent from low pressure to high pressure, so you need to maintain momentum carefully to keep the dynamic pressure higher than the exit.
The inlet on kart noses is very high pressure, so traditionally inlets will work. NACA would look cool and wouldn’t hurt, but it doesn’t look necessary.
Looks like the bodywork the villian would use
I wonder when the manufacturers will figure out how to get the airflow to part off to the sides, to the engine and radiator, and dodge the draggy helmet. I’ll know it’s happened when I stop having to clean my visor between sessions…
