Hey guys,
I’ve heard there are 2 types of egt probes used with the TM KZ engines…. 1 has a 90*bend, and one is straight….ive also been told that egt readings are very different, based on the type probe used …
I need some info from the KZ braintrust here !
Thanks,
Bill
hello,
it depends on how thick the probe is.
Between AIM and KE probe there is a difference of 20 degree in favour of the AIM as the probe is thinner than the KE.
We only use the 90’ ones as they better fit in the set up and KE tend to last longer than AIM ke probe
Just went down this road. You need the one specific for KZ exhaust. The pipe should already have a bung welded on it.
For AiM, there is a closed tip (LL) and an open tip. Closed tip live longer but read a little slower. Same price, so pick one style and stick to it EGT Thermocouple T12 Homologated - Trailbrake.com
I can post close up photos of them all tomorrow of you want.
