Looking to get some input from peoples experiences with these two engines.
Out in Southern California the amount of entries have been pretty equal from what I’ve seen recently, just trying to decide which route to go.
Thanks in advance.

225 RS should be a step up from lo206. Kind of like world formula vs LO206 in Briggs world. 225 has more hp and more rpms. I think you can start with either one, 225 need a little more throttle control compare with 206.
I have both engines. I raced 206 for about 5 years. 5 months ago I purchased a OTK kart with a Tillotoson engine. The Tillotson is so much more fun to drive than the 206. The power is nice no bogging in the slow corners. If you race a 206 on a high speed track like the Daytona sprint track the 206 is fine. However when you go to a tight technical track like Bushnell the 206 becomes less fun to drive. I have raced the Tillotson and 206 at T4 KartPlex and the Tillotson is my favorite by far. Top speed for the 206 is around 46-48 mph where the Tillotson tops out around 58 mph. You have to modulate the throttle in the corners where as the 206 it’s off then on throttle. Lat times are about 2 to 3 seconds faster with the Tillotson. I like racing the 206 with all my buddies however the Tillotson is the choice for me.
