Interestingly, it’s not on the Ohio Sprint Series (former Buckeye Karting Challenge) schedule 
. It’ll be fun to see whether there is any info about progress at the OVKA Swap Meet the first weekend in February.
They made some progress late fall with getting things squared away to break ground. However Kris’s daughter had some very scary health issues and surgery earlier last month and that has taken priority as would be expected.

Anymore updates on Lorain Ohio Kart track in 2024 ???
I searched like 30 minutes a week or so ago on the channels i know about and got zilch.
Not going great
It alluded to additional meetings last week however it was not part of minutes of council meeting. Must have been private if it happened at all.

I saw on eKarting News they had a groundbreaking recently. It’ll be interesting to see what transpires now. There have been lots of changes since the original announcement. It seems like quite the complex if it comes to fruition. My understanding is that part of the delay was health issues for one of his kids. Someone else may know more.

Another article confirming, and more information of the money flow. The community seems to be behind it. However the community money comes at the end.
McCrone is spearheading phase I of the site development — now known as the Lorain Ohio KartPlex. That development will include a 0.82-mile competition track, a 0.43-mile race track for rental karts, a 0.35-mile indoor track for electric karts, an esports arena with a focus on motorsport simulators, a restaurant and brewery, an event center, a radio-controlled track, an on-site storage facility, a motorsports retail store and a lounge and fitness center. <
This is the first that I read about a indoor track, Restaurant and brewery being added. However I also heard a oval track for cars was in the future plan. It will be interesting what will come first.
Yep talked to Kris McCrone the other day a lot of good news. Kart tracks and electric track coming first. Construction already underway. Opening in 2025 . There will be a website under the name Lorain Ohio Kartplex with updates and drone footage. My grandson runs at K1 Speed , Canton Ohio Electric Go-kart track in the league racing out there . And hope to get him involved with L.O.K.s electric and gas program too. My Grandson has a youtube channel under channel name ( K1 Racer ) Hope you guys check it out… Looking forward to running at both K1 Speed and L.O.K. Hope to keep you updated as I just live 30 miles from there…
