I have a Mychron 5S that has shown water temp intermittently since we bought it about a year ago. I have eliminated the sensor, cables, plugs and firmware through testing. It’s definitely the logger but seems to have no rhyme or reason as to why it works on one start of the engine, but not the next. Has anyone else had this problem and/or been able to resolve it?
Can’t say I’ve had this issue but I would highly suggest contacting AIM (Mychron) themselves. They have some of the best support both in the Karting world and general commerce. I’m sure they would be glad to help you out. It sounds like you’ve done everything right but maybe someone else has had the same issue. I’ve had 3 including a 5s (currently) and haven’t experienced an issue like that.
Only thing I could think of is the pins which are on the back of the Mychron which plug into the sensors may be loose/corroded causing and intermittent loss?
Are you getting no reading, or low/nonsensical readings from the Mychron?
