Need some help please - What kart do I have?

Hi Guys,

I’m a total novice at karting. I bought this kart from a friend a couple years ago for my kids. It came from a racing family, but the guy who built it has since passed away. I have little history about the kart and there are no identifying marks on frame that I can find. I’m looking to sell, but don’t know what I have or what it’s worth. Hoping someone here can give me some idea of what is it and what it’s worth. It’s definitely a high quality machine. It’s pretty fast. It’ll go 45+ even with me (200lbs) in it. I’m thinking it’s at least 30 years old. Runs great, but just don’t have room for it anymore. Can anyone help me put a value on it? Much appreciated!

Wow I don’t recognize that at all. At face value probably $1200-2000, but for all I know it could be a rare coveted setup worth more.

At the end of the day, the old adage of “it’s worth what people will pay” kinda thing. For me, $1200 would be it because it’s going to be a big project to cleanup.

Thank you! Really appreciate the advice. If you know anyone…they can have it for $600. I’m not looking to get rich. I had my fun with it. It is a really good kart though. One motor idles better than the other, but both run strong after warning up. One if my friends who knows more than me said most guys start the with the back wheels off the ground on wooden blocks to warn them up. Not sure if they true. The centrifugal clutch wants to engage at pretty low RPM’s so it’s hard to keep it on the ground while starting and warming up. Once she’s warm…she rips pretty good. Brand new tires just from eBay, but still have the old ones that were some racing logo…like Hoosiers or something. I’m in Kalamazoo, MI if you know anyone that might be interested.
