Not to derail this thread, but I cannot wait until we can get our hands on these F1 helmet cameras.
The nano looks pretty sweet. Hopefully light enough to chin mount and not have it weight down the front of the helmet.
Surely there’s supporting power and electronics for the F1 camera we’re not seeing in this picture?
Yea that’s just the lens and imaging chip. There is more to it. I don’t think I’ve seen a complete circuit board/housing. I don’t think the F1 broadcast team wants it out there.
It may say the video doesn’t work but it worked when I clicked on it.
Yeah I got the DJI Osmo Action 4 for cheap, and the 4K footage is looking real good. Huge upgrade compared to my old GoPro Hero 8

Yeah they have embeds for the video disabled I guess.
One could possibly make a helmet cam of sorts like we see in F1 etc this by disassembling an existing gopro, DJI or whatnot and distributing the parts through the helmet. Not suggesting it would be trivial… but it’s possible. Maybe not this specific DJI with a 1” sensor though…

It’s normal GoPro sized I think. It’s not a tiny one. It’s now 2 generations back.
For years I have been using the SJCams… they have been more reliable then several GoPros that are now being used as door stops. My next camera will be a 360 Camera, bit I won’t we able to run that on my chin. I like the chin mounting as it lets me see the AIM display when viewed in high res. In a race I’ll mount it elsewhere on kart. Two recent videos below. Cams are cheap enough to run in a naked frame… They use go-pro form factor for the most part.

Im waiting someone to buy the new osmo nano and put the hat clip on visor. I wanna know how it holds up compare to insta360 go3. Bcs i had the go 2 it fell off from the visor.

The AIM Smartycam 3 GP looks to be not really far from this: bullet camera from datasheet is 24mm diameter and 50mm long. Obviously the price it’s quite high.
