"Noise" in RPM graph line data analysis

Orange Line - Could this be a bad spark plug?, issue with the pickup wire?, something else? or nothing to worry about?
Just noticed this when comparing to a different drivers data. Looked back and it’s been like this since the engine was new this spring. Previous engine, same MyChron had a much smoother rpm line. No performance issues to speak of although driver did note a sputter once coming out of a corner but only happened once.

That’s far too consistent to be a misfire. It’s noise. Check how the lead is coiled around the plug, and check the insulation for any nicks that could be touching metal

I have had that happen. I solved it by wrapping the ignition wire around the plug wire about 10 times along the wire like a spring. The induced voltage in the signal wire is proportional to the number of turns you have it wrapped around the plug wire. Once I did that the signal to noise ratio became more favorable and the problem was solved.

Ill give that a try. Right now it’s probably 4-5 turns.

Also make sure all the turns are the same direction and parallel as well.
