Not a new guy and interested in a shifter

I am considering getting my son a shifter kart for next season. At the moment something to practice at local sprint tracks, but longer term road racing.
Where are good places to start looking for a used KZ or maybe a Honda 125 in the mid-west?

P.S. last season at 16 he raced Animal, Animal Limited Mod, and SCCA Formula Enterprise 2.

My dad used to tell me don’t buy the first car you see, lol. Does that apply to karts?

When shopping for used karts, I’d say it pays to know what you’re looking for, and what you’re looking at. That way you don’t need to look at more than one if you happen to stumble across the right opportunity early in your search.
