OK vs KZ / EUROPE

Again, I think that comes down to the skill ceiling in a 206 right now. It’s not that it plays out longer, but making one mistake gives one driver an opportunity to pass you, compromising your next corner, where another driver can pass you, and so on.

I also think this has to do with the tires. I would so much rather see 206 on an MG Orange, where there are more braking zones and opportunities to “reset” a mistake, but none of the 206 drivers want that. They all want the extra grip of an MG or Vega red, but not the power to make it challenging.

Raises hand: I am totally against reds or higher on lo206. These karts need lower grip imho. Too much grip makes it silly.

I once drove a rental on mg yellows (regular concession kart) It was literally flat through Etown. Kinda fun but also very dumb.

No one wants those tires. :joy: We want Hoosier A’s or equivalent.

I’d put y’all on 80’s if it was up to me, A’s are too much for a KA even

Gross. It wouldn’t do much aside from making lap times slower. The racing will be the same and so will the finishing order!

I think you’d be surprised how many drivers there are that don’t know how to use the left pedal properly in 206.

It used to be Briggs Flathead and Animal was a great class for development and you’d see drivers come from those into a 2-stroke with solid pace, I haven’t seen that from drivers learning in 206, at least in the Midwest, in a while.

Put everyone on Duro rental tires and see what happens

Your opinions and generalizations of 4 cycle drivers are strong. I think you are over simplifying it a little but whatever. Yes, more power is harder to drive.

I’m not just trying to say more power is harder to drive, but the grip/power ratio is part of what makes a class easier or harder to drive, and teaches more for the driver. One of the drivers that just won a $50,000 Spec MX-5 scholarship, Reid Sweeney, is almost exclusively an Ignite driver. Chase Jones told me his footwork was the best out of all the drivers there. The kid has talent, and he learned that on a 206 with Hoosier 80’s.
