OVRP help, SHIFTER setup

Any advice on Shifter setup for OVRP Track in New york.

I just moved from Puerto Rico and first time in cold waether, im 150lb, and the track i think is fairly big and fast paced, bare minimum just need a ballpark of what size sprocket to run.

I have an older style inteepid explorrer with a TM K9 on it also, if you have any other tips for the track i would gladly appreciate it! ( this is my first post here let me know if if i can fix anything with this post

Tim runs a shifter I think? He’s the fella that owns the place. Maybe ask Tim?

The reason i ask here is beacuse im 4 hours away :,), im in NH, just wanna get everything i need before i make the trip. But do you think if i call the track they can answer any questios relaxing to shifter setup?

They have a full shop and do sales. I would assume that they would be able to help but maybe a local knows better.

Gear for 75 mph at OVRP.

Do you use 40mm axles? I have a box with about 15 40mm shifter sprockets, 20 through 30 teeth. I don’t have a kart with a 40mm axle, so I’ll sell you the whole box if you want

I run a 1.529 gear ratio at OVRP for my Rok. I have a tendency to set the front wheels a spacer wider than most tracks as well, seems to help keep the kart from pushing over the bumps. So if your normal setup is 3 spacers, I’d start with 4 and tune from there.

OVRP is my home track, so feel free to DM me with any questions.

Nice thanks!! I can call them but might as well ask, is the track good to run right now? Ive been itching to go

back in the days, I was running 16/25 with the Modena KK1 tuned by CPI karting.
I think you can start from there and change your set-up after few runs.

The track will be closed until either end of March or beginning of April
