Pre-Race/Track Pump Up Jams

Nice.
For some reason it reminds me of this classic, although dissimilar.

And for our metal head friends…

And… Primus

The Neuromancers

I just realized I missed the 90s and was reminded of this by being introduced to Aphex Twin by the algorithm, leading me down a rabbit hole of fascinating videos on YouTube. This isn’t that but it’s something that I was reminded of while watching these videos.

No thumbnail which is oddly appropriate

Below is something from aphex twin. It’s seems that surrealism and absurdity collided when folks started playing with pcs. I kind of love it all.
Personally, around 1989 I started messing about with early digital image processing programs. I was able to use a film scanner in the engineering quad, a professor had an early one in his lab, and although I wasn’t an engineer, he allowed me to use the very expensive hardware to explore early digitial image processing.
This, by the way, is how I ended up at Thrasher. I sent in some digitally manipulated pics and KT called me and offered me a job. Apparently music was also changing with similar software/hardware. Heady times.

Origins

I’m not sure if people just make these videos or whether they are by the artist. I kind of hope they are fan art.

Here is a relatively contemporary artist that I found compelling: he isn’t trying to repulse, and comes at you with stories that entertain. He’s also subversive, I think, but playfully so, and perhaps kinder in his intent. Also, he drives a shoe.

Salvatore Ganacci

Oh, Nick, went to see this show at PNC Pavillion on Friday and said it was incredible. And, he’s not a metal person, generally. Very impressive apparently.

Montana seems beautiful. I’ve never been to Montana but the American West is indeed worth a visit. My best memories of it are Southeastern Utah and New Mexico.

Utah is nuts. The colors and the sky. Landscape that seem to be from another planet.

I can’t recall if it was Montana or Nevada but me and a pal decided to see how fast a 1983 Honda civic hatchback could go. Answer: 93 mph but scary as heck as the car wanted to shake itself apart.

Also, it’s open range and they have all sorts of signs saying watch out for cows on road iirc.

Those things are scattered across our lands here . Its so impressive and we dont have a clue who or with what techniques they have build those .

They have enormous stone materials but perfect bulding structure with no mud or concrete thing .
Just by figguring the weight …

Pretty bloody impressive considering 400BC, no mortar and foundations, all the stones having to come up a mountain, and the stones themselves weighing many many tons.

Maybe someday your windmills will be a similar mystery.

Speaking of which…
There was a book written in 79 by David McCauley called Motel of the Mysteries. I read it for an Archaeology class in college. The writer is poking fun at archaeologists misunderstanding what things they find actually were.

I have an “Apex Predator” playlist for when I am karting and it is a mix of 80’s rap and what not that gets me pumped and it’s funny how I tune it out when I am dialed in and hitting my marks well.

I have an “Angst” playlist for when I am out in my Charger.

I’ve got an 80’s playlist for when I am taking my 911sc out.

Love the SC! Is the '68 a true R/T or a Tribute?

it is a real R/T xs29 440 that I have a 512 EFI with Trickflow heads and a bunch of go fast bits with a billet Torqueflite with a Transbrake about to swap out the 440.

Awesome! '68 R/T and '69 Chevelle are at the top of my list for muscle car builds.

I am looking at acquiring a 71 Chevelle (my birth year) as well as a late 80’s Testarossa and that will be all the car posters I had on my wall as a kid.
