So we’re making the switch from Briggs to VLR. I have 1 son running in the JR class and 1 in the senior. Picked up 2 used motors, both said they have less than 1 season on them, but who knows! My question is are how can I really tell if they need a rebuild and is it as simple as swapping in a new piston or do they need to be honed? Another question are the pistons only sold by the MFG or can you get aftermarket pistons, same goes with the carbon reeds, are there different ones you can buy?
