Race Hero shut down as of 12/31/2024 - recommends Speedhive

RaceHero ceased operations on December 31, 2024. This decision was made after carefully considering the evolving landscape of motorsport technology and determining where our resources could have the greatest impact.

Since its inception, RaceHero has provided live timing, results, schedules, and entries to racers and fans worldwide. While it is difficult to say goodbye, we are proud of the role RaceHero has played in enhancing the event experience for so many.

We encourage you to transition to Speedhive, our recommended platform moving forward.

I guess somewhat sad for various reasons (for me personally, because it hurts my ability to get find race lap times from various tracks). Other than that I don’t have any insight, thoughts, etc but am interested if anyone else has a deeper take.

It looks like all of the historical data for races is just gone now. I was trying to get historical lap times for Orlando Kart Center, which OKC themselves links to RaceHero for and pfffft - just the message that RaceHero is gone.

So that begs the question, if lap records were set and no one can prove it anymore, did it really happen? :grin: :laughing:

UPDATE: my bad, apparently OKC has results at various sites - some on speedhive, some on RaceHero, but also these for their owner-kart races: https://results.alphatiming.co.uk/orlandokartcenter

Brian, the developer, made a post over on FB. He said the app had some problems and was included in the sale of Motorsport Reg to Hagerty and then when Motorsport Reg was sold to Parella Motorsport Holdings (PMH) chose to shut it down versus investing in it. Brian is now retired and has no control over what happens. The only way to get results from it is by using the Internet Way Back Machine.
