Rejetting LO206. Is that allowed?

I should expand on the subject. Here in Australia we use mainly two engines in 4SS classes. Something named a Torini Clubmaxx and the LO206. I was under the impression you couldn’t change the jets of a LO206 by the rules and could just adjust the needle height and float level.

But I’ve just read someone asking what jets they run in the Torini, which begs the question why can’t I change mine in my Briggs!

So has anyone changed jets in the LO206? Is there a specific jet that is the go to size?

Thanks all.

I am curious on the answer to this as well. The rules document (which I assume you follow in your country) would seem to indicate (stock unaltered) for all the jetting. However, Briggs has a part number (555536) that offers different options for jetting.

I think the bigger questions is why are engine types being mixed in a ‘sealed’ class? If the Torini runs in the same class, the Briggs would seem at a disadvantage here. If all LO206s run together, with no outside engine, allowing jetting changes is anathema…

The Briggs rule set does not allow for alterations to the jet and emulsion tube.
If you are not bound by the Briggs LO206 rule set then you can certainly modify them. I’m sure other jets are available and if they aren’t you can drill the stock ones to you preferred size.

Hi Ted, yes the Torini is 210cc and 10hp but has to carry 10kgs more weight. I have to be 170kgs. 10 more kgs for 2 HP doesn’t seem enough but that’s the rules.

Our Briggs states no changes to jetting and as delivered from the factory. Yet the Torini can change jets!! Starting to look like the playing field is tilted.
