Ouch! Not once, but Twice!! Seems like you might be better off with a super soft rain tire for such a short run. Did you notice all the gravel stuck to the front tire? The whole road looks like riding on marbles all the way up.
That guy needed front brakes. Or a lighter left foot.
Rain tire on dry pavement is no bueno, but a Vega White or something with some grip might help.
