Rotax max crankshaft correct side to side movement ? endfloat measurement?

good evening ,

as i was tearing down and old rotax max engine i seen some side to side movement of the crankshaft inside the crankcases . then i was in the search to find where is the correct tollerance in that freeplay but the manual dont say anything about that …

in an australian forum i have read that this movement named as endfloat it is not a bad thing if you see some of that as you close the crankcase . something like 0.20 to 0.50 is acceptable from those guys .

does anyone has any experience and can tell me when the endfloat movement is too mutch and can cause trouble ?

I think you shouldn’t go more than 0.5

0.2-0.5 is good
