Saw this on Facebook LO206 Cam Twisting

Depends, on the factory tolerances I suppose 59 to 51 degreee BTDC @ .006 Lift Intake or 101 to 93 degree BBDC @ .006 Lift Exhaust.

If on the intake side 59 or 51 is a preferred number but engines fall all over the range. Twisting to consistantly get your engines into the preferred number of legal levels could net you a gain over engines not at the optimum number. I dont have acess to a great number of engines but I can imagine if they see a need to keep the rulebook so open the factory isnt great at holding the tolerance perfect. (Most likely on the crankshaft gearing)

Wouldn’t the crankcase seal need to be broken to get the camshaft out?

New development in this deal, looks like ckna is reacting to all the talk of this.

Was anyone caught with the new CKNA rules at the Spring Nats. this past weekend??

As of now, I have heard of no one being popped.

This is what I got when I ask CKNA
“There were no infractions in the camshaft area.
Steve”

If someone was dumb enough to try after the CKNA rules update, they’re definitely not smart enough to race their way to tech…

I still want someone to show me ANYONE that has been caught in tech with a twisted cam… Anywhere…
