Try it. I mean do this: when you output the edited video, output that 4k. Then, upload the 4k to yutube
You are having it encoded when you output the davinci resolve file. Then you put on YouTube which also encodes it. You are using a sub 4k file from davinci.
This is exactly why mine looked like crap.
Random thought:
Saw an article talking about how heat is causing some folks to have car issues.
"Nearly 150 million people across the U.S. have been under a heat advisory at some point in August 2023. As the temperatures get hotter, mechanics say car issues have become more frequent.
Thirteen states stretching from Arizona to Florida to Kansas have seen weeks of excessive heat, and it’s causing tire and battery issues for drivers."
This made me think about our racing.
What is generally stuff that you need to pay attention to from an engine/tire perspective in unusually hot racing?
Don’t run too much tire pressure and make sure the engine is getting enough fuel.
So on hot days, one would want to make needle adjustments?
Yes, any time the weather changes significantly you should be keeping an eye on EGT to make carb adjustments and keep the engine in its prime temp range.
Gotta factor in humidity as well as air temp.
what game is this called? never heard of it
Whatcha think about this for a view? Thinking either this or iRacing’s built-in “TV” views to do some sort of picture-in-picture. Or maybe even one facing backwards?
The one that Clayton is playing is called iRacing!
It’s the best/most complete racing simulator.
It has pretty much every relevant class/car from little cars like formula vee (basically a gokart) to 800hp dirt sprint, formula 1, modifieds, you name it!!!
It has a VERY robust Racing series for each class.
It’s a brilliant and glorious thing, though frustrating as you learn (and others learn too).
The karting game I post about is called kartKraft. It’s a karting sim that’s been in development for 10-15years. Unfortunately they were purchased by another company that is not interested in developing the title further so it’s not a “buy”.
Heat and ore-detonation… is there a scenario where we need higher octane?
That’s unobtrusive. Yeah you could window rear action/passes from game footage in seperate window.
I’m kind of fond of having the alternate view fade in and out as needed. But, that’s work. For regular stuff I wouldn’t bother.
I honestly think that foldabikity, at some point, has to exit stage left when it comes to rig development.
That being said, the playseat as a base has tremendous potential, modded. But, when I modded mine to be more useful, I never folded it again.
I still think we could get a Kickstarter or similar started and just buy the rights to the game… Or petition iRacing to add karts.
Try what I said tho. I know up scaling is bad… but just try outputting something from your editor 4k, then upload. You’ll notice far less artifacting.
I don’t know that MG is selling off bits yet
Clayton,
In case curious…
I posted races from same session, some double encoded (racerender then upload to YouTube) and some raw footage, straight to YouTube.
The Battle of Baltimore: Baby Rotax Final - High Quality, No data
These are 4k filmed and in the case of the second, then output in RR 4k then uploaded.
Some lateral hop Because why not:
Lololol: 1000 hits instantly and someone used a racial profanity in comments. The internet is a strange place and YouTube is eating its own face with Shorts.
So, I am very curious about putting together a sim rig this winter. However, I’ve always really struggled with motion sickness when playing video games. I have not really gamed since High School and the OG XBox / PS2, but what I remember is that some games were okay and other made me feel sick. Across the board, watching anyone play a video game usually does it as well. That said, I played countless hours are Need for Speed, Midnight Club, Dirt Track Racing and Midtown Madness without issue growing up. I also recently played Trackmania at a friends place and that did not seem to be too much of an issue either.
I tried the sim booth they had setup at the Portland Formula E race earlier this year. Even ~5 minutes on that and I walked away feeling woozy.
Does anyone have any feedback on whether there are things you can do to mitigate this issue. I don’t know if certain refresh rates help or what. Just trying to figure out if I just don’t get along with sims and gaming (which would be a bummer).
This is an interesting topic. We may have to cast a wider net than Kartpulse but I do recall one of our other racers having a similar issue.
" Cybersickness refers to a cluster of symptoms that occur in the absence of physical motion, similar to motion sickness. These symptoms fall into three categories: nausea, oculomotor issues and general disorientation ."
Anyone have thotts?
