Smallest KZ Rad

Whats the smallest Rad that can be ran on a kz? Typically 12c to 20c, hot days maybe 25c, a couple of times a year.

Need to cut weight off as much as possible

The Newline RS Max is one that we’ve used when needing to cut weight, but still delivers strong cooling.

On a cold day, under 10 C, I’d run a Rotax radiator.

How much water in litres would the system hold with the rs max?

Not sure. Less than the big one :man_shrugging:

I use a big size rad all year and play with angle and curtain. The difference in weight (water and aluminum) between big and small is not worth it in my opinion. I use a KE double flow, it’s already super thin and light, so small or big makes very little difference. Even in winter, I like having a bigger mass and water circulating, trying to keep temps more stable and less “peaky”.

So not much weight savings between rads then?

In my case, no. Between the biggest double pass rad and the smallest of the KE lineup, there are about 800 grams that you can save. So yes may mean a lot to you depending on what you are after, not to me as I can easily get them from other places without risking to hurt engine performance

Where do you find the best place to save weight?

my own weight  Easier, less expensive and the advantage translates to any kart you have now or in the future.

I went from scaling 450 lbs+ a couple of years ago (I’m tall) to watching fuel in the tank to make weight. Totally doable, helps with fatigue as well

No decal kit, lightest bodywork that’s legal, small fuel tank, lightweight suit, lightweight helmet.
