The karting community as a whole has utterly and completely killed its reach and ability to be found online by abandoning the operation of individual websites/forums and joining Facebook. Very few involved seem to understand the significance of the following statement - Facebook posts/comments are not indexed by search engines (which is bad enough), but the content there cannot be easily found even within Facebook itself (Facebook search being hopelessly broken):

I believe you carry (an understandable) assumption that is essentially, ‘Well, Facebook is the preeminent site everyone has gone to, they left places like this so therefore it must have some things going for it, and certainly something like being able to search the content would be an afterthought.’
Unfortunately, this IS COMPLETELY WRONG.
Just look at the results from the link you gave site:facebook.com 'fl400' at DuckDuckGo. All of the results are either “Group” homepages, profile pages of companies, or “Marketplace” ads. None of the search results from this link include any of the actual content from the groups themselves (e.g., individual posts).

So, what happens if we make the search more specific: “fl400 drill piston” - https://duckduckgo.com/?q=site%3Afacebo … fab&ia=web - what results come back for that? Absolute *shit, with nothing relevant to the subject at all, and more specifically NO GROUP POSTS (again the individual content people are posting).You’re not missing anything, there is nothing that anyone is “missing”. Facebook does not allow indexing of individual content (by using robot.txt files and other means) and does not not even provide a remotely useful search function of its own content. As I keep saying, after a post goes off the front page of a group it is all but disappeared for future use/discovery.
Why is this happening? Because Facebook has somehow calculated that it is in their interest to direct attention/eyeballs/clicks in other ways. imho, the bigger question is why have so many motorsports enthusiasts mindlessly gone along with this and not realized at some point that their content is being flushed down the toilet along with it’s/their chances of being ‘found’.

totally agree. Also, even if you fix the indexing/search criteria, FB and socials are dispersed in a ton of pages and groups, so it all gets diluted. To make matters worse, anybody feels compelled to add their own opinion, even when they have no clue at all about karting. A forum somehow has its own way to balance things, if anything just the extra effort required to register tends to reduce that noise. Human moderators also play a big a part in it

I lasted maybe 3 months on Karting FB. Thats a crappy place in general and totes not good for karting. Its like that shitty Karting TV show had come to life, somehow.

KP is just a truly incredible (and rare) example of people working together well. I can’t think of any other forum, website, or frankly community, that works so well at a fairly large size

Believe it or not, there is some available. It’s somewhat buried but there’s hats and shirts and stuff.

The holographic stickers look cool, the stock pic does them no justice though.
Store and product range need work and someone (me) keeps kicking the can down the road 
I really should find a presenting sponsor that needs 1.25m impressions a month then add some karting apparel. Then dump the google ads for non logged in users since I think theyre about to force those obnoxious messages about cookies.
But it’s also about to become crazy winter ice karting season.
On apparel and other stuff like cups etc I started jotting down themes/ideas back in 2021. They’re not necessarily original ideas but some of them are cool. Basically recycled ideas from motocross, sailing and other lifestyle passions.
The thought is that many of them could have the same aesthetic design but have different phrases on them.
Here’s the list of “ideas”. I’d be interested in hearing what grabs people’s attention.
Also thanks for all the kind words. I think the community here has done a great job of leasing by example which is what makes it a place worth visiting for people. Less drama and ego BS, more adult conversations. More of a meritocracy vs everyone trying to one-up each other, instead the community here try to “plus” on a discussion.
When people outside the sport see that kind of bickering, it’s not a good look for karting.
Sure, most of us are competitive as ***k, but the sport is better off if we save that for the track
