Does anyone know what hapened to them? Looks like all the compies that sell them are out of stock and the website is gone. Anyone have one?.. thoughts?
I suspect it’s because LiFePO4 is taking over. You should call and ask why they aren’t in stock.
I did, they are no longer bing sold as the company in china is not selling them anymore.
My local shop doesn’t carry batteries because there is no profit. They tell people to buy Duracell 9ah from Batteries+ which is a store in town.
You don’t need a special kart battery. Just get one that fits and has the proper voltage.
So this is what I have found, Fastech Racing sells a Nermak 7ah lifepo4 battery, under 2 lbs and says it has a cca of 290. Seems perfect and the price is under $40. Now here’s the problem, they sell the same batter on Amazon and it cleary states not for use on go karts? Right from Amazon:
“Please note! Our battery is not a starter battery, it can’t be applied to motorcycle, go-kart, generator, lawn mower, trolling motor, jump starter, UPS above 750VA/450W, scooter above 24V 200W, etc. The working current of our 8Ah battery is 8A, the maximum can’t be more than 10A, because the current is longer than the battery’s working current for a long time will damage the battery.”
Also being in Canda the battery is not availble so I can’t even order one and test it. Any suggestions or thoughts?
I used Exide ELTX9 last season. No problems at all.
For longer periods it must be stored with smart charger connected because it may loose its voltage and protection circuit turns it off.
I dont know if it is available in US but I’ve found it on UK Ebay with international shipping.
There pretty picky about the proper batteries so I want to try and keep it the same type, don’y want ot mess with differ type of connectors or modifiying the battery box.
