It’s always been interesting to me how instrumental hot rodding magazines were to the growth of karting in the 60’s and 70’s
I remembered the other night, being a kid and hanging around the newsstand section of the supermarket reading the hot rod mags. I was taken with what most likely were Ed Roth and similar drawings of wacky fantasy monster cars, mad magazine style. There was even some is turorials on how to draw a wheel, etc (I still remember this method).
In any case, I’m guessing those are long gone (mags). Coincidentally, when I worked at High Speed, our Juxtapoz magazine did a lot of articles on lowbrow car art.
