I’m 6ft , 186cm approx
I have a longer torso so I sit higher in seats and make my centre of gravity much higher than a small guy.
I have always run t11 seats which were the most layer back seat I could get but I found a new 9.5 in the uk so shipped it over to try.
I’m just about to install but was curious to hear if anybody has tried a 9.5 over the past few years in the modern karts and with any success.
I’ve read some seat manufacturers make custom seats to suit taller drivers for wsk etc as off the shelf products didn’t always suit. I thought by the sounds of the back angle of the seat it would help my issue.
It would be going in a kz.
If anybody installed one did you still use the same seat measurements as a vg?
I used one for a time until I hurt my ribs. But I mounted it about the same distance from the rear axle. In my kart that was basically slammed all the way back with either seat, but each kart varies on where they want the seat.
It wasn’t the seat that hurt my ribs, that’s just the last time I used one. I loved the seat, but my ribs don’t like standard seats these days and I’m forced to use a different style.
I bought it last year and mine was old stock from the original manufacturer. We bought some of the newer ones and the new fiberglass work is not as nice as the old. I think honestly I’m going to work with a composites guy I know and make a seat that protects the ribs with better fit, finish, flex, and appearance. Stay tuned.
