Has anyone ever purchased one? $315 vs $460, so I guess for $145 extra they dyno tune it for you… any thoughts.

The folks at Comet are great. I’m skeptical of blue printed or tuned carburetors separate from an engine - meaning they tune it for an engine they have and then send it on.
The VLR like the KA 100 is very sensitive to air and tuning but I feel like because of this tuning the carb for anything but the engine you’re planning to use it for is strange.
I look at these things as a final QC with a support program. It may not help on the dyno perse, but if they offer support it can help you extract the most from your package on that day…
