This has probably been spoken about before
But wondering how much difference
There would be between my kart
Which is a straight and good nick
Arrow x3
Vs a new arrow 6.2
Would it be maybe a tenth or two
Or could it be even more
I have been running clubday and winning at that level but if I step up to bigger races will I need a later frame to compete
Hard to quantify without knowing all the variables. You’d have to test both chassis’ back to back to get a true comparison in terms of tenths. AFAIK your Arrow X3 was released 10 years ago. If you’re racing a modern engine you’d expect a modern chassis to be a more suitable match.
Some good discussion on this sort of thing already too:
With tuning being such a huge factor I think trying to assign a difference in lap time between models is a bit of a waste of time. There’s so many variables and chassis have not fundamentally changed in a long time.
If your chassis looks good on the flat plate and the weights are good I’d say stick with what you have unless you’re just keen to get something newer.
