Hello guys, having a big ignition issue today. Pulled the kart out of the shed to start the break in process on my TM K9B after I rebuilt the motor over the winter. Filled it with fuel, primed the carb, attempted to start a few times, and nothing. pulled the plug to check spark, have nothing. checked everything with a ohm meter and compared to what the homologation paperwork say is normal, everything came back correct. swapped everything possible, ground wires, stator, rotor, coil, plug, check plug wires, plug cap, nothing makes any change. kart was parked running with no issues. swapped the ignition over the winter to the brand new setup I bought beginning of last year for my back up engine. I am stumped, and before I order a new setup, anyone have any ideas? I have a PVL 105 458 coil, PVL 1419 pickup coil, PVl 945 rotor, NGK BR9EG plug.
if you changed everything and you still have no spark you might have the faulty part twice. The main culprits are the stator, coil and the plug, the rest don’t usually go faulty.
Make sure the plug it’s touching the head (grounded), check the kill switch.
Sometimes it’s difficult to get spark when you turn the engine by hand. If the engine is on the bench turn it using a battery driver/socket and check for spark
Make sure both magnets on rotor are strong
