2024 TDX with TM R2. I have custom stubs I can put on the front axles that allow sniper alignment while on the ground with driver seated. All of the alignment specs seemed to be while on the stand. Anyone looked at what the specs are when on the ground? First race is this weekend and on the ground I am neutral camber/caster and 1mm toe out. With these measurements and the kart on the stand it measures 4mm toe out and 7mm pos camber!!! This is a new chassis and adjustments are equal both sides so I dont suspect chassis issues I’m just questioning there is that much flex? Anyone weigh in on this? Thx
There’s a ton of flex. The chassis is the suspension, so the front camber change is very sensitive to the front bar stiffness. The bottom line is that the actual numbers don’t matter unless you have specs from a tire model. Beyond that, they are all relative, so you just need to be consistent, and the stand is the accepted best answer for that.
It will sag a fair bit so that’s not totally abnormal. As Caleb said, it’s best to set it on the stand because it’s repeatable. The kart will sag less or more on the ground depending on the driver size and posture and seat position, so everyone will have a different amount of flex when they sit in the kart on the ground.
I just set it at 1-2 mm toe out on the stand and just set the camber according to the pills.
