Speak to an engine builder. It all depends on what work needs to be done.
Rotax? Can’t be done unless it was a dealer broke the seal.

It’s one of the reasons tossed my Rotax in for IAME. It was a practice engine, I broke the seal to replace the reeds, when I asked for it to be rebuilt and sealed, couldn’t do it because I broke the seal not a registered authorized dealer.
IAME took it off my hands and gave me a handsome 33% discount on a brand new X30…
