Hi - we are new to karting and learning. With our smaller sprocket with 10 teeth what range of larger sprockets would you suggest we carry? Currently we use a 79 for the track we are on and I know that some karts are swapping between 77-82 depending on track and conditions.
Hard to say. If you’re only racing one track, I would have at least 5-6 gears to adjust with. If others are running 77-82, get one of each.
If you’re new, you’ll likely find you can take teeth off as your driver gets better and carries more speed and RPM onto the straight, so if you’re going to buy just a couple sprockets to start, I would buy the 77 and 78.
