Vortex ROK GP newbie

Hi everyone. I own a ROK GP and it’s my first time with any Vortex engine (in 8 years of karting I’ve been mostly a Rotax client and fan due to it’s friendly maintenance hahah)

What would be your opinion & experience on the GP maintenance interval? I get different comments from people, some say 15 to 20 hours top end, other say don’t reach 10 hours, others 30… Vortex manuals say 30 hours for top end and 90 bottom end, however there’s always variables to consider…

I’m using it only for a hobby since the GP is not a popular engine in my country. The engine has 6 hours of use as we speak.

Any comment or suggestion would be appreciated

Based on my experience so far, I would say the 15 to 20 is definitely safe and should run very strongly even then. 10 hours is ridiculous unless there are extenuating circumstances of neglect or abuse (like running it way too lean).

A good solid engine overal . The only thought i get in my mind is to check if you got the correct ,

and in many cases fitted wrong from the factory spring for the exhaust valve .

Bullet proff engine equal to rotax max quality

and

if you do your maintenance according to service manual , and in your current use as a week end warrior , a hobby user same as me ,

the hours you think you could go from service to service is a safe path .

Stay on the richest lean line talking fuel set ups and have fun !

A great overall engine .
