From what I read people really like the Facebook vr units. Would be a good way to try since they aren’t super expensive.
Interestingly the quest 2 is less expensive than the Lenovo was on sale years ago. If I’m reading this correctly the 2 is $200
This also appears to be a wireless unit. Says 2 hrs. But, apparently you can double this with battery pack.
Memory is probably what its stores games on since I think this is truly standalone. @tankyx any clue how this one works? More is better I am sure. But it might just be storage of titles and not performance related.
@tankyx also… how does this work in context of pc video card? Is the oculus driven by onboard chip?
For the Quest2/3, you can run apps directly on it but don’t expect to run games. You can stream some VR feed from the computer, with quite a bit of compression or wire it directly to the gpu like a usual VR headset
Okay, good to know. So for sim racing, if you’re plugged in, the memory in the headset isn’t worth the extra expense?
