It sounds like your folks worked very hard and had some real up and downs. You are very proud of them, obviously. I’m glad to see that you recognize how fortunate you are to have them and that you appreciate all the opportunities they have given you. You seem like a good kid, Mike!
Thanks! If im gonna be honest until 3rd grade i was just a truble maker. School didnt bother to send me for a ADHD inspection so they just thaugh that i was crazy or sum. I had a extra teaxher walking around after me every day and he was rude to. I didnt complete the class veacuse i had bad grades. Now from grade 5 with my medication i almost have maximum points in my class. That also driving my familiy towards helping me!
Dad always says that even if i suceed as a driver if i crash and brake something i need to have backup. So thats a good degrre from school
I am glad the medication is working for you. We didn’t know about this stuff in the 70s. I didn’t start treating my ADD until this year, actually, and, I too see a really big difference. I had similar issues in grade school.
I’ve probably posted it a dozen times but saw it again today and figured I’d share it since it’s got a decent level of sketchiness to it and it was about the only thing that went right that weekend… all 50 seconds of it
That footage never gets old. I just watched it on the big TV and through the good sound system, and wow, one gets the full range of emotions of karting in less than one lap.
This track looks fun. Where is it located?
You seemed to start conservatively but when you had your chance to get by 279 you turned it on. What driver do you run on the motor?
I also noticed you were having issues with your hands. Don’t grip the wheel as much and push your palms into the wheel.
This last weekend was quite a challenge due to the conditions! On Saturday morning, the track was wet but not quite wet enough for rain tires. So, we went out on slicks! This was my first time driving in wet conditions of any kind. I had a ton of fun, kept it on the track (except to avoid a spun driver) and learned a ton about kart control and rotation! Also, my slick tires are absolutely toasted. They have three race days and three full practice days on them. I flopped the fronts prior to this practice day!
I think it is pretty cool to see my confidence build throughout each session that morning. I just naturally began to figure out where the limit was through each corner, the ideal line to take and where to get back onto the gas. Watching the first few laps compared to the last few is quite different even though the track conditions did not change much due to the extremely damp air and no sun!
I was researching rain driving technique before this weekend and I saw a few tips that I kept in mind. One was from @tjkoyen who detailed the technique of turning in with a lot of input in order to use the understeer to slow down. Then, as the kart starts to rotate, open the steering back up and get onto the gas. This really helped me through the slippy corners where the understeer with a normal turn input or braking amount would slide you off the track!
The slow battle against the tag…
Hey, it does not matter the context, it feels good to pass a tag, KA100 and a VLR in a LO206 hahaha!
I posted these on the Grand Nationals 7 thread, but I finally got around to going through my GoPro footage from CKNA Grands. It’s not pretty, but it’s here!

2:58 in first one, the guy magically goes away.
In my defense, I was fully off the throttle when then happened. In my not defense, I did laugh when I saw him go, knowing that’s exactly the kind of thing that would be fixed with pushback bumpers, but we’re too good for pushbacks at CKNA.
Hey man that’s close racing for ya. In those fields that looks like a good outcome. Pretty much every YouTuber seemed to experience carnage and chaos.
What a day to try it out! It looks like it would be a lot of fun to race, almost a kart. Whatcha think? Hard to say because of wet, I bet.
Its just like a car but alot lighter. Gearbox was rough but i managed it well. I was onlyone who didnt spin out. Downshift was mad. Second gesr into turn and rear want to fly out.
Its somewhat comparable with kart. But more towards car.
I will have another testday next year in dry!
As a diversion, I bring you the Lady in the Pink Crocs:
This is why rib protectors are a good idea in rentals, indoors. It’s like kart ping-pong out there, in those public heats.
Just wanted to say…

Jeez. I know right? It’s kind of fun. My numbers are nowhere near as good as yours but content seems to matter. What is getting the views? The engine building stuff?
The supercharged stuff seems to get more eyeballs than enduros etc. Shorts in particular do well. Here’s how my site blew up with SC:
Do you have tiktok? I can link the video with 1.5 million. Its a vid of my sprocket…
Its alot about editing and grevhing someones attention… i can talk about reeds or engines and have good editing and randoms wilm watch it bc something happens every 2 second like movable captions. Sound effects, pictures moving, b-roll
