What did you do to your Kart Today? (2025 Edition)

Was cleaning some stuff out at my parents’ house and found my old go-kart toys. Did any of you guys have any of these? Can’t remember where they came from but they are impressively detailed for some cheap Chinese no-name toys. Even have proper Birel and Tony Kart logos on them, and a mix of KZ and Honda engines that are pretty accurate with little radiators and air cleaners and pipes.

Now my 4 year old is doing durability testing with them.

That things badass, you load the karts up onto it?

Happened to be looking through marketplace for other karting goods and came across some of those karts tonight. Funny seeing them after the post from @tjkoyen

I fished up a couple of fold g kart stands I have been building. I made them a little lower than some of the commercially available ones. My sons are young and it can be tough for them to left their end of the kart sometimes. An inch or two can make a huge difference.

Got it all mostly together aside from a few bits. Everything is mocked together, just needs some final adjustments and (hopefully if my broken femur heals in time) itll be ready for the track.

Today with my kart…

…in the early chilly morning I lifted the tongue of the trailer and moved it a few yards to attach it to my suv just before driving off to the track…but as I set it down and straightened up I felt my back tweak out and then seize up!!! :smiling_face_with_tear::joy::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

The trailer isn’t light per say, but really not very heavy compared to other things I lift regularly. Just not warmed up and bad luck, I guess.

World domination on hold, but I’ll be back. :fist: :boxing_glove:

Thanks Stamatis. Took a couple ibuprofen and started moving around to get some movement and blood into the area. Finished the day loading and stacking wood. Did a couple light deadlift sets. All good!

Missed the track day of course, but it’s only a matter of time. :checkered_flag:

Next time I go for that trailer lift in the early morning I’ll make sure to run around my house a couple times or something first.

Yeah, I’m getting by but the 2 weeks thing sounds about right. Mornings still start off slow, but right now it’s the middle of the afternoon and you’d hardly know anything was wrong with me. Hard to be patient!

Played in the rain. As much as I hate getting the kart all nasty, rain practice is hard to come by here in the desert. Luckily my dirt tracking kicks in and I’m probably more comfortable in the rain than dry

Your rain tires look rather smooth!

It’s the opposite here, most of the times it rains and we can’t get enough dry running

Recent projects with KZ engine stuff include porting R&D and getting some cylinder heads powder coated (obviously a performance gain )
