What Neck brace?

“In the first study of its kind, Great Lakes EMS Inc. (Action Sports EMS) reported on the results of almost 10 years of accident data evaluating riders’ cervical injuries with and without a neck brace. In total 8529 rider accidents were evaluated, of which 3803 (45 %) wore neck braces, representing a statistically significant data set (p-value << 5%) [51]”

This study never evaluated the rate of usage (which is the #1 piece of data you need before assessing risk over a pool of riders, even then it’s extremely limted as there are a ton of other variables that come into play )… so it’s worthless. yet Leatt include it in their white paper. So year, there’s that

I have a nice OMP neck brace.

I don’t always use it, except for when I’m doing KZ. You really don’t want to FAFO with those karts. Better have a bit restricted head rotation than take a big risk. It looks quite bulky but I actually rarely notice it.

I just bought one of these. They seem popular and if nothing else, it can’t do any harm. In my opinion.
