What oil in in a new out of box LO206?

Hi all, unboxed my new engine and didn’t expect it would have any oil in it. But it does. More than assembly oil for sure.

Any ideas on what oil is shipped in it? I’ll also asked my distributor if they added any oil and what it is.

Thanks

Amsoil 4T is what Briggs recommends.

To my knowledge there is no break in procedure posted from Briggs. For break-in I would run 1 or 2 sessions. For session 1, warm up on stand and run 5-10 minute session varying RPM but staying below 5k. Drain the oil and refill while hot. For session 2, run 10 minute session varying RPM and staying below 5k. Drain the oil and refill while hot. Ready to race.

My engine guy told me to do it like this. Run it on a stand 3 times. Run, change oil while hot, refill, let cool. Repeat.

First time just above idle, about 1500rpm.

Second time about halfway, 3500-4000rpm.

Third time 4500+rpm rev It up but dont pin it at or near idle.

You’ll hear a million different ways from a million different guys. In the end pick any reasonable one and you’ll be fine. 4strokes are pretty resilient and as long as you do a break in you’ll be fine.

P.S. just for good measure I changed my oil one more time after my first day at the track.
