Hello, i recently bought a pair of Sparco CRW as winter gloves, and i’ve hated them. They seem to have no grip because they are so thick, and because of that you have to really hold on to the wheel tightly, which makes my palms hurt after 5-10 mins or so. I got a endurance race coming up soon, gonna be in a kart for 1h per stint, so i need a quick fix or alternative to those gloves. I got some simple sparco rush gloves, anything i can put under them? Last time i tried putting thin latex gloves under it in about 30-35 Fahrenheit weather and safe to say that failed miserably, was painfull to even have fingers on my hands after that session. Found out thats probs the worst possible thing i could’ve done. So yea any ideas? Or maybe there is just simply some warmer gloves that arent as uncomfortable as those ones?
Ive seen guys wear those thin winter gloves underneath their carting gloves and then latex gloves on top to protect from the rain and wind. I frolic down south so I cant vouch for how effective this would be.
The biker folk seem to have options… for example
Well my birthday present from my lovely spouse was some tempest v2 cold/wet gloves.
Here they are next to normal thin gloves. They are much longer, the fingers fatter, etc. more like “normal” winter gloves.
I got the xl and was glad I did. They fit but I’d say they run smallish. It’s hard to say because, being winter gloves, the fingers are harder to curl, relative to what we normally use. Also, they will break in as the fabrics etc get used to being wrapped around a steering wheel.
I shall report back with on-track experience, but ny initial take is that they will serve well.

She also got me a fancy alpinestars winter under shirt. Also very good seeming product but, alas, I have put on weight and no longer fit into the m/l. Confusingly, the next step up is L/2XL. So we erred on the wrong side initially.
It was fairly expensive, ($120ish) but appears quality wise consistent with the pricing. So, back it goes. Perhaps instead I shall spend the 100 towards a new pair of shoes once I get my awesome new suit (TBD).
