Yamaha KT100 producing white smoke

Hello everyone,

I am having an issue with my KT100, it seems to be burning oil and producing a whole lot of thick white smoke. We don’t know where the oil is burning/from or if we should be concerned. Has anyone had this problem before? If so, how did you fix it.

Of course it’s burning oil since the oil is mixed with the fuel. At low rpms they will smoke badly, but most likely your carburetor is just too rich.

As Greg said, this is a 2-stroke engine so the oil is in the gas. So yes, it’s always burning oil.

2-stroke engines tend to smoke. Get it up to speed and it should clear out like Greg said.

White smoke seems unusual though? Typically it’s blue. What kind of oil is mixed with your fuel currently?

Smoke somewhat normal and not a major concern. You’ll find it will come and go at times as you drive the kart faster and or start playing with carburation.
