Well if you want vibrations that literally measure on the Richter scale, go to a top fuel drag race. Otherworldly experience

F1 cars sound way better in person. I’m sure not nearly as good as the v10s and v12s, but they still sound pretty damn good to me. Especially when they let off the throttle

I remember Monza 2007 I think it was, in the covered grandstand on the left of the start finish straight towards the end of it as they approach T1. Holy shitballs the sound as they took off!

So true; when they idle it’s like a heavy-weight boxer doing the speed-bag against your chest… then the green light goes on :flushed:
And that was years ago when they only made 4-5 thousand HP, now they are well above 10K HP

whats cool is you can just walk in the pits. realy hard to breathe in the pits though. I remember one time my headphones literally fell off my head from the forces. Doesnt look or feel real at all. you can feel it, like a rock concert bass times 10

I think applying a penalty a week after the race would be pretty chickenshit, glad they denied it.

and RedBull return fire

The Red Bull and Mercedes will be analyzed with the finest-tooth comb these last couple races. Both teams have to have the microscope out.

Yep. Anything bodywork related though I can’t see being successful in a protest because it requires static tests currently to regulate. I have seen the lower wing on the Merc flex. While flexing itself isn’t illegal (contrary to popular belief) there is a defined limit on the gap between the lower and bottom sections of the wing. But proving Merc are breaching that while the car is in motion vs the static test is almost impossible.

The gap between the lower and upper elements appears to open up at speed on the Merc. I think this may be part of the suspicion. But they’ve been doping it for ages, so unless they’ve found about how to make it even better, if it is flexing, I can’t see it being the main thrust of the extra speed. Either way nigh-on impossible to know whether it is breaching the regulations governing that area.

Anyone know why Hamilton has his hand on top of the steering wheel at starts?

I think;

  1. ‘Stability’ like the wheel can turn left or right when launch, so he has good grip of the wheel. (Some sort)
  2. The magic button is on the upper left (or right) of the wheel so he can turn it off. Pretty sure the magic button is to warm up your tires in the safety laps. (Something like that from what I know)

I read about that. Wasn’t there a restart fail where he accidentally had magic button depressed?

Yeah at Baku 20 chars

This rear wing issue Red Bull has been bringing up could get spicy. Some new images have come out in this article. Be interesting to follow for sure. Obviously they are all guilty of circumventing the rules at one time or another, but now down to the wire in the championship this could play a big part if they find validity in it.
