2022 Formula 1 Season: Official Discussion Thread

Too bad this is a sprint race weekend.
I doubt KMag will be in the top 5 for the start of the race on Sunday.

Unless it rains, the Haas is good in the rain. But yeah will be tough for him to hold on. But if conditions are changeable there is a lot of opportunity to pop back up.

Either way, I think Mick’s fate is sealed. Not a good look when you are DFL and your teammate scores a shock pole.

Can we start doing the rain dance now!? Want it to rain so badly. :cloud_with_lightning_and_rain:

Even more why I hate sprint weekends. If if if sprint weekends are a thing. It should be different tracks. Having previous year tire data kinda takes the guessing out of it

Yes, light rain would be great.

I love the sprint races in that practice and setup time is minimal. That also helps mix up the grid.

What would you do as Hass for the sprint race? Go aggressive on the softs and be conservative and go medium?

I don’t think they are fast enough to gap the top 3 on softs vs mediums so you play it safe and go medium so you don’t fall off a cliff and the end of the race.

Hopefully KMag calms down a tad at the start and doesn’t knock off another end plate…

If he gets the start he usually does. Who’s he going to hit?

Well if he gets passed by Verstappen who is normally quick on starts or Russel, I hope he doesn’t stick his nose in and wreck an end plate.

The FIA said they will let damage like that go now, so I vote use those end plates up. Plus Mag is one of the best starters on the grid. He said full attack, I am guessing he battles hard. I hope he fights but just gives enough to survive and get a good starting spot for the GP. Max also has nothing to lose so you’re not gonna scare him out of attacking.

Leclerc made the softs last for a full Sprint distance in FP2 so I think that you can make that work.

Kinda lame if that’s true they have walked back their decision on using the meatball flag. Kevin isn’t going to get those points back were he was flagged.

Well looks like they are going on softs!

There goes an end plate

I’m really liking the sprint race format. Feels so much more grass roots. Show up practice, immediately to qually, heat race, and final. Seems to really help mix up the field.

Pretty exciting Sprint. Most of them have been a bit meh… Hard racing and good battles throughout. Nice to see KMag get to lead one lap at least!

The mediums on Max just did not work at all. Disaster tire for them.

Great to see a track that puts on fantastic racing! Can we just copy paste this track all over the world with some slight tweaks and just ditch the street races.

Might get a bit spicy at the start tomorrow with both Mercs on the front row! I think Lewis has the edge on George on race day but doubt either of them will take the win. Hope I’m wrong though!

I like Russel, hapoy to see him win but jeez the schoolboy snitching is getting rather tiresome ‘track limits turn 4’ just drive your damn car stop being such a tosspot :joy:

Snitches get stitches

I think max had a damaged floor after running over Alonso’s front wing debris, that’s what our commentators were saying

I don’t think anything was confirmed post-race, yet. Max just said they didn’t have pace, too much tyre deg.

To be fair our commentators aren’t the best :joy: they spent a good few minutes commentating the Perez Hamilton battle before they realized wait that’s Verstappen and Russell :joy::joy:
