It’s Eau Rouge, one of the most dangerous corners in F1 and in the wet. So many drivers lost their lives there.
Honestly formula 1 is becoming boring, I almost fell asleep 3 times watching spa and incase you ask yes I’ve slept my 8 hours!

Imho that was not a boring race! Sure the overtaking was limited aside from drs but lots of Strategy as far as pit stop timing. Lewis and Perez first lap was exciting plus the Chase from Lewis and Oscar after the last pit stops.

Internet of things rumblings abound that Liberty begged RBR not to chop Perez mid season because of the resultant Mexico GP revenue impact For sure there would be a sweetener in there, wouldn’t surprise me one bit listening to Helmet’s astonishing u-turn on Perez.

Sounds like Doohan is favored to move up alongside Gasly at Alpine next year.
Doohan has a lot of potential and its expected I like how more and more rookies are coming up next season, first bearman now hopefully Doohan, Antonelli is most likely next but honestly I don’t think Kimi is ready, but its nice to know more and more seats are opening up for youngsters or reserve drivers, and I’m also keeping fingers crossed for liam lawson

Lawson should take Ricciardo’s seat, thought RB was a team for grooming new blood! I would be surprised if Merc go with Antonelli but there aren’t many good options now.
Toto is really holding tight onto Antonelli because he regrets losing Verstappen to Red Bull. I think they are just waiting a bit to make sure he is developing enough. Prema sucks in F2 this year but Kimi was stomping Bearman and Bearman got the nod to move up.

You are right about Antonelli but I feel it would be a year too soon to put him in the Merc. If Merc continue at this performance level I would think they would fancy their chances at the constructors next year, Antonelli probably could be a hinderance to that. Maybe give Bottas a one year contract as a safe pair of hands for next year then put Antonelli in when the regs change.
Not sure Bearman is going to cut it in F1 but time will tell. His one off in the Ferrari obviously went well although at that point that car was a top three car.

Merc are still trying to poach Verstappen. If that fails Antonelli will get the seat (from a Merc F1 design team staff member my daughter met at a funeral last week)

If I recall correctly when Alonso invited Hamilton to race karts in X year he admitted he didn’t drive them a long time ago
Hamilton doesn’t seem to be interested in getting into a kart anymore.

I have always got the distinct feeling Hamilton wants nothing to do with karting. Max is a bit ambivalent too. A marked contrast to Schumacher and Alonso.
max is more focused on sim racing, but I think Alonso does karting a lot something I believe to do with his early career and childhood, his family could barely even fund his career and lacked the funds, now that Alonso has gone a long way I believe he has a special place in heart for karting and very much enjoys it, which most likely explains it.

Didn’t Hamilton do a charity kart race during his early career (McLaren days)?
I went to two events in 2007. One was a charity sell off of a JICA that was a ‘Lewis Hamilton Kart’, which never added up. This was in London, where he binned it. Not his fault, this place was unsuitable. I met some London paparazzi there as I was on my media duties. Weird lot. He did an event at Daytona Kart Track with McLaren and Stars of Tomorrow a month or two later. A cameraman nearly had a fight with a photographer. When you photographers trying to get shots, that gets REAL spicy. Hamilton always appeared to be a bit dear in the headlights then. Immense pressure he was under and his first season.
He did an event in the Bahamas as part of their motorshow and Merc. This was about 8 or so years ago.
The only other time I saw him in a kart from memory was Lonato where he tested with Chiesa and went out on the LH kart.

It was a CRG and that was a problem. Also the ‘LH’ brand wasn’t particularly strong.
Do you think if Hamilton relaunched his brand in his Mercedes days or next year would it have worked?
