That was Max at his best.
Wild race of course. Alpine with a huge swing a they took full advantage of it to jump up the Constructors points.
So many things happened in that one I can’t even remember it all.

One of the most chaotic races in F1 history, even more chaotic than Hockenheim 2019!
Max is a beast in the wet, just unstoppable (although for some reason everyone ahead of him didn’t even bother to defend, not even Piastri…).
Norris? Shocking. The guy has awful racecraft and an annoying attitude. Imagine finishing P6 from P1 and getting beaten by the guy who started P17 and saying “it’s luck, not talent”. Fuck off.
Well the VSC ending right when George and Lando pitted and dropping them out of the top 2 was pretty much all down to chance. I don’t think he was talking about Max either, I think he was referring to the Alpines, given they are nearly the slowest team on the grid. Ocon did great to quali well and they managed it perfectly and didn’t make mistakes or anything, so they earned the podiums on merit, but it wasn’t down to car performance.
I actually was pretty surprised to see how calm Lando was. I think it actually was a huge relief to him to lose so many points today because now there is so much less pressure on him given the championship is a REAL stretch now. Max would need DNFs.
Lando for sure did not have the mental capacity for the championship this year. He fell into a championship caliber car halfway through the year and didn’t really expect to be fighting Max I don’t think. Hopefully over the winter he can focus on that and come back a bit icier and mentally stronger next year. I don’t think racecraft is his weak point, but he needs to have a different mentality if he’s going to battle for a title. Too many mistakes under pressure, not aggressive enough in wheel-to-wheel, not cutthroat enough to beat Max.
A decent car from the start of the season will certainly inject that. I guess it’s whether Piastri starts putting on pressure as well. Assuming the water in tyre accusations comes to nothing, and RBR struggle without Newey, then McLaren go into next season as favourites.
Bortoleto Announced as Second Sauber Driver for 2025 on Multi-Year Contract
Can’t wait to see him in F1, even if its the sauber.
RIP pourchaire I guess
I hope Theo finds a high-level seat somewhere. I thought he was pretty good in IndyCar and McLaren booted him unceremoniously. I feel bad for him.
That came as a surprise for many.
Would really like to see them wheel a sprint car or late model. I bet they’d have a blast
Damon Hill has left the Sky Sports Formula 1 presenting roster ahead of the 2024 season-ending triple-header.
Damon as a commentator was not good in my opinion. Always had a clear bias and was not as articulate and quick on his feet like Martin.
Red Bull says it is stuck with a too-draggy rear wing that has left it on the backfoot against its Formula 1 rivals in the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
World championship leader Max Verstappen ended up 17th fastest in second free practice on Thursday night, with team-mate Sergio Perez two places further back, as the Milton Keynes-based squad lacked pace.
While some of that performance deficit was down to engine settings and a different tyre programme, it is not lost on Red Bull that GPS data shows it to be up to 7km/h slower on the straights than the pace-setting Mercedes and McLaren cars.

This means that Max and Red Bull is going to lose even more points to Norris/McLaren. Such a shame he bottled it in Brazil or we would have an actual championship fight in the last 2 rounds.
Has anyone else noticed that Perez’ race engineer sounds just like George Russell. It’s like they have car to car communication.
Please get Perez out of that seat. The guy is as incompetent as it gets.
But Kit-Kat is delicious
Gasly threw down a massive lap there. And Franco… those poor Williams mechanics are being worked to the bone.
