I honestly think this is the main driver behind the Andretti decision. Liberty donât think they need any help or to divide up the pie, especially in the US.

Someone posted this on reddit. Might as well change his name to Christian Horny at this point ![]()

Good night miss boring pants!
Pretty tame stuff, pretty human. Iâm not sure I needed to see Christianâs nipple but Iâll survive.
So, not having gone through all of it⌠is he accused of harassment? Like heâs texting some woman who isnât on the same page as him?
Assuming these are authentic⌠There were moments of vulnerability and oversharing that probably should have stayed off his keyboard. The bathroom was gross.
My biggest takeaway however, is how he used âyourâ in places where it should have been youâre.
thatâs more common than you think. Many times I have found people writing your than youâre. Although I guess that with the level of education that Horner has he shouldnât write like that, unless itâs a bad habit
I got a kick out of the âHope you enjoyed your blast in Bahrainâ bit haha
But yeah, the only thing i can really conclude about the situation is this is a good reason why messing around with your co-workers is prohibited in the workplace. I dont see anything that comes off as controlling or threatening like all the articles kept inferring
Oh youâre right for sure itâs just a pet peeve of mine, I was saying it more in jest.
Generally workplace romance is frowned upon, regardless of how tame or not it is. Then youâve got the added layer of him having a very strong position of power as the team principal, and it could be difficult for an employee to say ânoâ to his advances if they are concerned they could lose their job saying no to a boss.
Consent gets fuzzy in these instances, though it does seem like both were consenting adults.
Still, having an affair with an employee is a bad look for someone with such a public profile.
Anyway back to racingâŚ
How about Alpine?
Yeah Iâm aware of that. I have been working in corporate America for a very long time.
The secrecy around this created a build up that is disappointingly non redbull in its final form. Very pedestrian stuff.
Re alpine⌠their livery reminds me of the pink car team, same sponsor, I think. Itâs the same team, just rebadged? What was the pink team called and werenât they back of the pack, too? Iirc that was lance strolls first team?
Also, I read something that suggested that there is now less of a money gap between teams and that we shouldnât be seeing such wide gaps this year. True or did I misunderstand?
Youâre thinking of Force India / Racing Point, which is now Aston Martin. And yeah thereâs now a budget cap thatâs supposed to help level the field.
And as far as Alpine, idk theyâve always seemed to be at the tail end of the pack, but for both Gasley and Ocon to be dead last in Q1? Something is definitely wrong with the car.
They have to pull a Mclaren from last year
Last year the teams discussed allowing Alpine to improve their engine (which are frozen till 2026). It was estimated they could be down on power by up to 15hp They eventually decided to not allow it. The situation appears to have only got worse.
Other teams, especially Ferrari, started the new engine regulations with very high performing engines that couldnât last. Then they were allowed to make changes under the guise of reliabilty which is allowed.
About the only strategy Ferrari has got correct recently.
Yeah, Alpine picked up the BWT sponsorship from Racing Point (which is now Aston Martin, which used to be Force India, which used to be Spyker, which used to be Midland, which used to be Jordan), and BWT brands everything with that pink and blue. Except Alpineâs car is 10kg overweight so theyâve made it mostly carbon this year.
The budget cap came into effect with the new aero regulations, so all teams have a limit on what they can spend now. Previously teams like Mercedes were spending $500 million+ a year and teams like Haas were barely spending $100 million. So we hopefully should see convergence as time goes on and no one can theoretically outspend anyone. Or at least thatâs the intent.
Along with that is the rule that each team gets more or less wind tunnel time depending on where they finish in the championship. So Red Bull gets something like 65% of the standard wind tunnel time and a team like Haas will get 110% of the standard. The idea is to allow the worse times some extra aero testing in the off season to catch up and bring the field closer.
These are new rules within the past couple years so we will see over time how they affect the pecking order.
The times were incredibly close between the top 4 teams in qualifying. Max is a step ahead but otherwise it seems teams like McLaren, Ferrari, and Mercedes have gotten closer together.
Alpine gained the most positions on the first lap 3 positions !!!
Ignore the shunt involving the 3 cars in front.
Bah! Sargeant had a good first few laps and then the issue and delay getting going again. Going to be some tension in the RB debrief, Daniel was coming hard but his tires seemed to go off the last couple laps. Not that the position really matters as both were out of points, but I actually figured theyâd swap them back on the last lap. ![]()
On another note, Carlos the âsmooth operatorâ looked good today.
Loved the lunge Carlos put on Leclerc. Even if Charles was struggling with brake issues it was nice and from a long way back.
Nice to see the Haas not totally chew its tires.
Max though⌠peerless today.
Itâs nice to see Ferrari (booo) and McLaren (yay) duking it out. Sharles drove pretty. Iâm also happy the nascar greenies werenât too bad. Valterri had a bad pit stop tho.
Iâm ok with Mercedes struggling a bit because they had like 10 years of ass kicking. It will be fun to see what Lewis can do with what heâs got, which will undoubtedly be impressive.
Max needs to do something villainous soon otherwise heâs going to just be Lewis minus the cool clothing.
Which of the young guys bears watching?
Horner stuff is pretty tame but does Redbull want to be represented in F1 by a now known horny dude who cheats on his wife with his PA ?
Also the new F2 is super boring to watch. F3 was fun though, with an excellent race of Esterson
I think itâs worth noting we might be witnessing the best F1 design team ever combined with the best driver of all time (greatest is a different debate). Not sure I can think of a better combination.
